Norman High Juniors and Seniors that are a part of the iTech program will receive internship credit instead of explo credit. They can use the time and work they do for the school through technology as job experience they take with them past graduation.
Each semester 20 students are selected to help run the technology help desk at Norman high school. These students learn the customer service, troubleshooting, and hardware repair skills needed to help support the thousands of devices assigned throughout NHS.
They use their skills to help teachers and students alike with tech issues including but not limited to:
Macbooks, iPads, Chromebooks, AppleTVs, phones, printers, and countless online sites.
Students who apply and are accepted into this program are also offered the opportunities below.
Norman Public Schools uses predominately Apple products throughout the district. So as one all iTech students earn their apple teacher certification early in the program.
As part of the iTech program students will be offered the option to receive a Coursera scholarship for certification in one of the following tech fields:
Data analytics
IT Support
Project Management
UX Design
Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
Students involved with the iTech program are given the opportunity to apply for paid district internships with the technology services center. The school technology help desk lead will write a letter of recommendation .
