Observation and practice in public schools of our context is a key aspect of our program that allows teacher trainees to get insight and opportunities to experience education as a teacher in the real world. Thus, it is of utmost importance to follow all protocols and rules as they are required by both the university and the school of practice in order to secure an internship at these places.
Each student teacher must bring the necessary copies of the following documents to their observation and practice visits. Some of these documents must be filled out by the student teacher and others must be completed by the classroom teacher/school mentor.
Failing to bring these documents to the school visits can result in a suspension of the teaching practice period for said student.
The student teacher can create a copy of this document to complete their lesson plans.
Prior to the school visits, all lesson plans must be checked and authorized by both the professor in charge of the practice subject and the coordination of LEAI, thus it must be signed by said professor and gotten the ENFT official stamp, provided by the head of department. Without this previous authorization, the student teacher cannot attend the corresponding school visits of that period.
The student teacher must bring this document to the host school to register attendance and have it signed by the corresponding teacher at the end of each visit. Once the observation and teaching practice period is completed, this document must be signed and stamped by the host school's principal.
The student teacher must provide a copy of the corresponding document to their school mentor during the visit period. This evaluation form must be answered by the school mentor and given back to the student teacher once completed.
