Teacher's Appreciation Week (TAW) was started by the students from the first generation of the BA in English Learning and Teaching in Middle School (LEAIES) in ENFT. It was a way to share what makes us unique as the LEAI family in the school community, and as a way to strengthen our sense of belonging.
This event takes place during May and focuses on creating interesting, fun and educational activities to promote the use of English as a Foreign Language (ESL) in the school community.
This year TAW revolved around the theme of Movies, where teams of participants had the chance to compete in a series of challenges focused on specific English proficiency skills and specific movie genres for each skill

The 2022 TAW was carried through different days, where teams competed against each other in a variety of challenges related to the four language skills.
The 2021 TAW was our second edition happenning during lockdown. Once again, there were challenges to complete for each language skill, having conferences, and giving out tips and ideas to practice English.
The 2020 TAW happened during the COVID-19 pandemic, during the beginning of lockdown. Now, we would not let this stop us from promoting the use of English during this time, so students and teachers of this program decided to do these activities virtually. The Speaking Challenge turned out to be highly successful and serve as a way for students of all programs at ENFT to reconnect with each other and practice their English speaking with each other despite the distance. You can find more about this event on our Instagram page.
Created by the students of the very first generation of the English Language Teaching and Learning in Middle School (LEAIES), the Teacher's Appreciation Week was, in its origins, a whole week to promote and share new and creative ways to practice English in your daily life. With more than 7 different programs at ENFT, it was important to share what makes us stand out as English teachers in training, so, of course, we had to do it through something fun and engaging.
Throughout the years this event has been reinvented and modified, but the main idea is still intact: Learning English is fun, and we can all do it!
