Massachusetts

Children's

Book Award

Each year students in grades 4-6 at Freeman Kennedy participate in the Massachusetts Children’s Book Award project conducted by Salem State University. Each student wanting to participate must read at least 5 books from the list below by mid March, in order to be able to vote for their favorite.   A short review of each book read will also be  created.  You may read a hard copy or an ebook, -or- listen to an audio book or a read-aloud. All formats count. All of the books will be available in the Freeman Kennedy library beginning in the fall. They will also be available from public libraries across the state.  At the end of the program, all students participating in voting will gather for a celebration!
