Important Information Regarding Graduation

Six Rivers Community:

Congratulations to the graduating class! We are very proud of the accomplishments of the Class of 2018, and look honoring them at graduation ceremonies on Wednesday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Patrick’s Point State Park’s Campfire Center.

Patrick’s Point is a wonderful setting for this important event. Being able to celebrate the accomplishments of our students in this gorgeous environment is a popular and unique part of Six Rivers tradition. Earlier this year the students of the Class of 2018 voiced their desire to return Six Rivers’ graduation to Patrick’s Point.

However, the large size of this year’s graduating class and all their guests will make the Campfire Center an extremely tight fit. In addition, the number of people wishing to attend has led to a new plan to accommodate parking. The following plan built a plan for moving guests and students to the graduation site more efficiently.

      • First, we ask that all guests and students carpool. Reducing the number of vehicles will help us avoid problems.
      • Guests will be able to park at the “Park and Ride” or the field behind Murphy’s Market in Trinidad and be shuttled to the Campfire Center by either a 80 passenger school bus or a 12 passenger shuttle. The schedule to the graduation site is as follows:
            • 1: 00 pm: Bus departs from Murphy’s Market.
            • 1:10 pm: Shuttle departs from Murphy’s Market.
            • 1:15 pm: Shuttle departs from Murphy’s Market
            • 1:30 pm: Bus departs from Murphy’s Market.
            • 1:40 pm: Shuttle departs from Murphy’s Market
            • 1:45 pm: Shuttle departs from Murphy’s Market

Following the ceremony the school bus will make two trips back to shuttle guests back to the parking area. The first trip will take place approximately 15 minutes after the ceremony. Shuttle Vans will also ferry guests to their cars.

The “Park and Ride is located at 101 Main Street across the street from the Chevron Station in Trinidad. Murphy’s is across the street at 1 Main Street. The ceremony will start promptly at 2:00 pm. The van will return for a last trip to the graduation site at 1:45, but we cannot guarantee those who arrive late will be on time to observe the entire ceremony. In order to fully enjoy the graduation ceremony, attendees are encouraged to arrive early enough to catch the shuttles.

      • If you miss the bus or shuttle please proceed directly to Patrick’s Point. Individuals choosing to park at Patrick’s Point should be prepared to pay the $9 fee to park. Please park at the Visitor’s Center near the entrance to the park. The Visitor’s center is about a quarter mile from the Campfire Center.
      • We have planned to have just handicapped and staff parking at the Campfire Center. We ask that guests utilize the available shuttles or park at the Visitor’s Center.
      • SRCHS has purchased parking permits for individuals utilizing the handicapped parking spaces. Presenting this pass will allow your car to park at the Campfire Center or other public spaces. Please have your parking permit with you when you arrive in order to avoid being charged a fee.

One last note, graduates must arrive at the ceremony site no later than 1:15 p.m.

I look forward to seeing you at the ceremony while we honor the SRCHS Class of 2018!
