Peer Tutorial

Arcata High School Library Peer Tutorial Overview of Tutoring Program

• Tutoring takes place during Enrichment Time from 1:05 to 1:25pm on TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAYS, and FRIDAYS in the library.
• Students must apply to be a TUTOR or TUTEE. Tutors will help students and tutees will receive help.
• Ideal tutors will be students with a solid academic background and have a recommendation from the teacher (see application form).
• Ideal tutees are NOT students who are failing, but instead students who just need a little extra help fully understanding a topic.
• Tutors and Tutees will be matched in a “one-on-one” or small group study situation.
• Tutoring time is NOT TO COMPLETE HOMEWORK but to receive help in understanding a subject.
• Tutees may be asked to complete Progress Reports
• INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR will not be tolerated and students will be removed from the program.
• Students are expected to arrive promptly with their supplies.
