Message from Media Arts Department Chair, Isaac Webb

Rodney has been the heart and soul of the Media Arts Department for the past four years. His open mindedness, kind spirit and creative generosity has transformed the department for ever.

Rodney is the son of a drummer and his sense of rhythm and timing is rooted in a deep cultural legacy. But Rodney is also a media artist who is called to the new and the experimental. His computer is an instrument that he continues to play in a way that echoes an ancient tradition.

During Rodney's time at NOCCA the department produced its first Vinyl record which would not have been possible without him. Not only did he drum for many of the media artists on the record but he helped facilitate a creative environment where he and his peers could share skills and artistry equitably.

No matter what level of student, what style of music they were interested in or what clique they might claim, Rodney always brought his full self to their music sharing his loving and supportive energy openly.
