The Problem
Every year, the destruction of wildfires results in property damage, and even loss of life. They also serve as a reminder of just how sudden and dangerous fires can be.
You want to be prepared for an emergency that involves a fire. This includes having a plan ahead of time, as well as knowing what to do if you are ever in a situation involving a fire.
The Problem
Imagine, you are wealthy individual who wishes to give some of your money to a worthy charity. How will you decide on which charity to give your donation, and how do you expect your money to be spent?
Deciding which charity to donate money...
Review a list of charitable organizations and then decide which charity is the best fit for "donations".

Winter Storm Preparation
Imagine you are a meteorologist preparing for a major winter storm projected for your area. Determine what evidence you might have that the storm is coming and how you will help prepare citizens.
Last week, the world watched as the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris caught fire, destroying much of the 800 year-old structure. Fortunately, there were no deaths, and only one firefighter was injured. Yet, despite the fact that there was no loss of human life, there was something else that was lost. The Notre Dame Cathedral is an icon in the city of Paris and it's visited by 12 million people each year; you can tour it virtually here.
Work as a museum curator for the Smithsonian Museum of American History to choose new objects to display in the museum that are "iconic" to America. Adventure writing:
Imagine you are a scientist who will be traveling to the center of the Earth! You board your ship (fully equipped with a high-powered drill) with your team in order to be the first people to ever make to the center of the Earth. You travel through each layer of Earth’s interior. You take very detailed notes about the characteristics of each layer as you travel deeper beneath the surface. Your trip is not without problems! You encounter several challenges along the way.
You will write a fiction story in which you are the leader of a team of geologists trying to drill to the center of the Earth. You will begin your story on the surface and begin to drill down. As you travel through each layer, demonstrate your knowledge of Earth’s structure by telling your readers the name of each layer. Describe what each of the four layers is made of as you travel through it. When your team reaches the center, explain how temperature and pressure changed as you approached the center of the Earth.
