The Great Pacific Garbage Path

I read the passage from that night's homework about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I reread the passage multiple times while the students created an image what they were visualizing while I read. Once everyone had their visualization drawn, we shared pictures. At the end, I showed students images of the actual Great Pacific Garbage Patch to compare and create a stronger sense of visualization.

The Purple Cow

Students had to create a visualization as I read a short poem called "The Purple Cow".
