Native American Heritage

We got to the Airbnb on Thursday, and wejust talked because our family was there.. The next day I woke up in the morning and I had to help wrap spam musubis because we were helping one of my aunties' relatives set up a food vendor at the place. Then after that, I helped put salad into bags and I packed coolers. After that we left to go to San Bernardino College, where it was being held. We got there and unpacked, then I walked around a bit and watched the people dancing in the circle with weird feathers and singing something that I didn't understand. Then I went to help at the vendor. I mostly just called numbers and wrapped musubis and got juices.
Also, like 40 percent of the time I would help make rice or make little rice chicken bowls because they were doing Hawaiian food. We stayed there until 12 o'clock at night because that's when it ended, but at like 11 is when we went to go do stuff like look at the shirts they had and other cool stuff. After that, we went home and went to bed.
Then the 2nd day came and we did basically the same thing, but my family made me go to the arena because it was something called intertribal, where anyone can go in and they made me go with them. I didn't have to dance or anything, I just walked, but I still didn't like it. The 3rd day we were leaving, so we helped the relatives make about 100 musibis and have them ready because everyone wanted them and we were always sold out and always had to make more. Then I walked around again and tried to climb monkey bars, but it was really hard because they were high up. After that, I went back to the booth, washed some rice and made some more rice. Then we watched the show for a little while again, which I still don't understand what they were really wearing, but I learned that you can't wear or have bald eagle feathers if you're not native. I also said something that is something that native Americans do, where it is like a stick, and it's smoking, and you float the smoke over your body, and they say it's medicine, so that was cool too. I also finally learned the tribe I'm from, which is Yakima. Overall, it was a fun experience.
