Lilo and Stitch is a classic Disney movie that captures the highlights of Hawaiian culture. The movie tells a story of a young girl, “Lilo” who encounters the most wanted alien in the galactic federation. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who has a small, ugly-looking dog named “Stitch”. Stitch was originally designed to be chaotic and destructive, he uses Lilo as his bait to escape the Galactic Federation. During Stitch's time on Earth, he learns many new things beyond what he was designed for. Specifically, “Ohana, which means family”. He learns manners and how to control his anger, slowly turning more humane than alien. At the end, when the social worker comes to take Lilo away, it turns out that her family is under the protection of the galactic federal government. Overall, I would rate this film a 10. I wasn't bored at all because it depicts the rich culture of Hawaii and does a great job of explaining the narrative. This movie is perfect for the summer as it has a tropical atmosphere and a great family movie.
