My recent artwork has been a blend of landscape shots, and shots about peoples' affect on the environment. I attempted to tackle the many ways humans impact the environment, such as pollution, wildfires, ect. I also included many landscape shots. These are a few scenic photos of So Cal nature and its beauty. My hope with these specific works is to help people realize the importance and beauty of nature. Thanks for checking it out!

I like to take pictures of waves and surfing. As a surfer, I am intrigued with the immense beauty of of the ocean. Surfing is a very prevalent thing in Newport. My goal is to document the relationship between these people and the waves. I want to capture people riding waves and the culture that surrounds that.

Diane Enriquez

Hello, my name is Diana Enriquez, I am a senior who focuses on photography but occasionally changes mediums.

All I want is for my pieces to tell a story or make a statement. I often use symbolism through color, be it a color theme, undertones, or selective colors to help add to the story or statement. I have branched out to creating profound and meaningful pieces over the past months, but will always enjoy and continue to take simple portraits that speak of short complaints and thoughts.

As long as my images have provoked a thought or idea, then I am satisfied.

Grace Flagg

My name is Grace Flagg and I work with digital and film photography. The focus of my work is to understand the characteristics of religion and how spirituality defines a person. I mainly use black and white because it symbolizes that religion can be full of light at times or full of darkness. I shed light on the mysterious questions faith leaves us. The goal is to show that an encounter of the image is always more than its description.

Photography and graphic design have been a growing element of my everyday life, in both a hobby and as a profession. I have used these as an outlet to take a moment from life to think about something other than the constant crazy in the world, and just to breathe and focus on growing my platform and my capabilities when it comes to photography and graphic design. I tend to go between portraits, poster design, and other intimate angles in order to portray a message to my audience. My thoughts and processes are guided by real life problems that direct me in certain ways to shoot or edit. My continued hope for the future is to push myself even further, go outside the box, and develop my artistic skills into something more. The following ten images represent my newest portfolio, mental health, in a wide variety of different perspectives and ideas.

Beauty is a concept that carries heavy pressure in a woman’s life. To be beautiful, and to look beautiful is exhausting, time consuming, and draining. I love makeup, hair, and fashion, but I wanted to represent some of the effects these materials have on a woman’s life. From feeling the need to cover her true face, the emptiness staring into the mirror, the wishing you looked “better”. Capturing the moment where you don’t feel good enough.

Much of my art is based around character design and is especially grounded in many of my interests. I primarily use the digital medium for all of my work. Reflecting on most of my work helps me learn what I can fix later on, as I’m always looking to improve. Usually, what I draw is for fun or to learn, though creating characters and environments to compliment them has helped me build a world of sorts I’d really like to fully explore. Thinking in the perspective of long term, I want to be able to focus my abilities into a project built off of my passions that I can be proud of.
