Jazz Ensemble:  This class is designed for band students who meet the performance requirements, as determined by audition.  Middle school students are eligible for enrollment, however keep in mind that they are competing with older, more experienced students for membership.

Period: 0 (Before the regular school day)

Open To:  All grades 7-12 

Prerequisites:  Approval through audition only.  Limited spots.

Course Titles:  Stage Band

Instruments:  Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Guitar, Piano, Electric Bass, Drums.

Required Activities:  May vary, but generally - 6 evening concerts per year, various community appearances.

Material Needs:  May vary depending on the instrument.  Concert attire as outlined in the class syllabus.  Band polo shirt – available for purchase.  Students are encouraged to own their own instruments, however school instruments are available.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?

The CdM Jazz Program accepts both middle school and high school students who meet the performance requirements for their instrument.  Unfortunately, we can only take a limited number of rhythm section layers (Guitar, Bass, Drums & Piano) so selections for open spots will be made based on auditions.  The performance requirements / preferences for each instrument are listed in the section below.
