Family Support

The Week at a Glance is displayed at the bottom of the announcement page. We will be updating this at the end of every week. You can use this small snapshot of classes to start conversations with your child about how they are doing and what they have learned.  We will also see when assessments will be given during the week. The Week at a Glance is subject to change at teachers' discretion. 

Patriot Time is scheduled for three blocks a week where students will complete their IXL online practice in Math and ELA as well as receive additional support in small groups. We will have the ability to work in small groups to deliver targeted instruction and support all types of learners . Our  Fall, Winter, and Spring IXL Diagnostics will take place in Patriot Time. 

IXL diagnostic testing will be completed three times this year for math and ELA; Fall, Winter, and Spring. Diagnostic test provides individualized lessons based on your child’s performance and ability.  Students cannot receive help of any kind during the diagnostic test (even if they are struggling.)

Username is the student initials followed by their ID number and the Password is their ID number. (example --> un: JA12345  pw: 12345)

The 8 Red Team teachers will be holding a presentation for parents on Thursday, September 14th  from 5:15 pm to 8 pm.  We will be covering 8 Red team scheduling, expectations, and communication for the upcoming school year. 

Each student has a unique username and password needed to login. Click here to see an example.

Username: 28lastnamefirstname@nmrsd.org  (28 is the year of graduation)

Password: Nmid_ _ _ _ _ (followed by student lunch number) The "N" is capital letter.

Students are already members of each course's Google Classroom. If you, as a parent/guardian, would like access to the daily or weekly email summaries on 8 Red, please complete the following form.

1. Student Planners - All students are required to have and complete a planner for each class. Students write their daily assignments, projects, and/or assessments in their planners during every class period in person and virtually. Planners are given to each student on the first day of school or are sent home for remote students. If your child misplaces or loses their planner, you can purchase another in the office for $5. Students are responsible for their own planners....organization leads to student success!

2. Aspen Parent Portal - NMS has an online system where teachers store upcoming assignments for you to view in one location. If you do not have access to the Aspen system, CLICK HERE to signup. 3. Math Homework Log - Mrs. Anderson provides an spreadsheet that contains the nightly assignments for each class by week on the Week-At-A-Glance page above.
