NMS School Spirit
Good Afternoon Families!
As mentioned in our weekly NMS newsletter, the middle school will have a track and field team this year, which will be coached by Miss Thompson and Mrs. Scenna! Practices will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm with a rain date makeup practice on Fridays if needed. We have the potential for 2-4 meets held at the high school or away at other middle schools in the area. Runners of all abilities are welcomed and encouraged to join!

The items on our 8 Red Amazon Wishlist will go directly to the 8 Red Students! Check back often as we will be updating the list throughout the year as needs arise.

We are overjoyed with the amount of support we have received so far by parents/guardians of 8 Red. We can't THANK YOU enough for your kindness and generosity. The students love seeing the new items arrive daily and we are sharing these items directly with them. The high-demand items this week are the pencils and pencil top erasers. Mr. Judkins loves the drone and is planning on sharing more pictures of student work than ever before! Check back here to see more pictures in the weeks to come.
Reminders for Parents/Guardians -
- Parent/Guardian Google Classroom Summaries. If you are not already signed up to receive summaries from Google Classroom, you should have received an invitation from Google asking for your acceptance. The team used your registered email from Aspen to send the invites. If you did not receive this invitation email, please email Mrs. Anderson at jmonico@nmrsd.org to send another email verification. Please include your preferred email address.
- Detentions - Students will serve detentions on Thursday's from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Written notifications will be sent home with student for parental signature the day of the incident and returned by the student the next day. Parents will be given at least 48 hours ahead of the scheduled detention. If you are unaware of the offenses that may result in a detention, please visit our parent/student handbook. The discipline information can be found on pages 24-30.

- Having Internet Issues at home? Parents and students can create helpdesk tickets for the district if you are having concerns during remote learning. You can start by logging into the helpdesk with your child's school email address as the username and the password is your child's student password. Once logged in, you can create a ticket for a district technician to be in touch for possible support. More information can be found on our district website as well.
- Absence or Dismissal. If your child is absent from school or needs to miss a class due to an appointment, please contact the homeroom teacher and Mrs. Nee by phone or email.
