EBSCOhost is an online research platform that New Milford High School has access to.  EBSCOhost allows students to find reliable research resources that support the high school curriculum and students’ information literacy skills with high-quality content from popular and educational sources including full-text databases, e-books, audiobooks, and digital magazines. Under EBSCOhost, there are a variety of databases that support high school and college-level research. Users can search by full text, narrow searches by publication date, and search by source.  Users can also print, cite, and save to Google Drive.  EBSCO databases offer text-to-speech for HTML articles.


To begin using EBSCOhost, please click one of the links below. If accessing the database remotely, you will be prompted for a User ID and a PIN/password.  Please reach out to Ms. Knudsen for the log-on information.

Explora is a database for students to look up articles and facts for research papers, class projects, or homework. A far better alternative to websites and search engines, Explora provides students with content from the world’s leading magazines and reference books. Available on school computers and from mobile devices.

Points of View Reference Center contains information resources that present multiple sides of an issue and reflect perspectives. Points of View Reference Center covers hundreds of topics, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (argument), and counterpoint (opposing argument). 




Literary Reference Center is a literary database that includes thousands of synopses, critical essays, book reviews, literary journals, and author biographies, plus full-text classic novels, short stories, and poems. 

NoveList is a database of book recommendations curated by librarians.  Students can search for titles, authors, genres, or peruse recommended reads lists. Clicking on a title will provide a book description, genre, tone, publishing information, and read-alikes.  This database is a great way to find your next favorite read.

MasterFILE Reference eBooks- This ebook reference collection offers a rich selection of eBook titles covering a broad range of general reference subjects. Topics include biography, history, careers, cooking, literature, genealogy, health, parenting, personal finance, politics, architecture, science, current events, social-emotional health, sports, and travel. 

Literary Reference eBooks-This ebook reference collection offers a rich selection of eBook titles covering a broad range of literary-related subjects. Selections include literary criticism, study guides, and classics such as Emma, Dracula and Frankenstein.
