As a school counselor, I believe:

M 5. Effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators, other school 

staff and education stakeholders.

M 7. School counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career and social/emotional outcomes.

The vision of the New Millennium Academy (NMA) school counseling program is to support developing global leaders who will transform the world. 

Mission Statement 

The mission of the New Millennium Academy (NMA) school counseling program is to provide culturally-informed, comprehensive school counseling services to ALL students. School counselors collaborate with relevant stakeholders to meet students’ social-emotional and mental health needs as identified through referral processes, school climate surveys and school data reports. Through the school counseling program, students will receive social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons, assistance with career/post-secondary planning, individual and/or small group counseling, and crisis intervention as needed. School counselors at NMA are committed to providing a positive, supportive school climate where students are encouraged to identify their personal strengths and strive toward their academic, personal/social and career/post-secondary goals.
