The mission of the New Millennium Academy (NMA) school counseling program is to cultivate trusting relationships with scholars, families, staff and NMA community partners. By doing so, NMA school counselors support scholars in developing their personal strengths and successfully pursuing their academic, personal and career/post-secondary goals.
Direct Services with Scholars
Academic planning and goal setting
Classroom lessons based on American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Student Success Standards
Short-term, individual counseling
Small social skills or counseling groups
Indirect Services for Scholars
Consultation & collaboration with families, school staff & community partners for student success
Data analysis to identify students who may benefit from additional support
Advocacy for systemic change to increase access, achievement and opportunities for ALL scholars
