Drop off - Doors open at 8:25 AM for the morning session and at 12:40 PM for the afternoon session. We encourage the “kiss and drop” method at drop off to maintain a smooth flow of traffic. There is to be no passing of vehicles during drop off. For the safety of our students, under no circumstances should vehicles pass the school bus in the school parking lot (front or back) while it is stopped and has it’s red lights flashing.
Breakfast Program - The “Grab and Go” school breakfast program is now up and running Monday to Friday and is available to all students when they arrive in the morning.
Recess Orders - For K-9 students, recess orders are taken each morning by the homeroom teacher. Orders are then collected by the cafeteria staff who are equipped with proper PPE . Cafeteria staff then deliver the orders to the students prior to recess. Students are asked to have correct change when placing these orders in the morning. Grade 10-12 students are permitted to go to the stage area at recess, if they wish to purchase food, and then return to their classrooms.
Lunch Orders - For all K-12 students, lunch orders are taken each morning by the homeroom teacher. Orders are then collected by the cafeteria staff. Students are encouraged to have correct change. K-6 students eat their lunch in their classrooms while 7-12 students are permitted to eat in the stage area, granted proper social distancing can be maintained.
Allergies / Scent Free Policy - Please note that St. Lawrence Academy is a scent free school. Also, there are several students and teachers with food and environmental allergies including eggs, latex, fish, tree nuts and peanuts. Please keep this in mind when packing your child’s lunch.
Water Bottles - Students are required to bring their own labelled, full water bottles to school. Water fountains may be used to refill water bottles, however drinking directly from water fountains will not be permitted until further notice.
Recycling - Due to the current pandemic our school will not be recycling any student containers. Students are asked to bring home all containers and recycle in their own home.
