At the end of this lesson, you will know how to present your screen effectively depending on the purpose of your presentation.
Presenting your screen is useful for when you want to share something on your device with other participants in a Google Meet. You might want to be able to share an activity during a lesson with you students or share documents with colleagues during a grade-level meeting; either way, being able to share your screen is a useful skill to have!
Step 1: Click the Present in the bottom toolbar.
Step 2: Choose your preferred method of presenting your screen. There are three options:
Your entire screen - will present your screen as you see it. This will include the tool bar at the bottom of your screen, any tabs you have open, as well as your desktop. This method is useful if you need to show menus that appear from right clicking your mouse.
A window - will present a particular window. This could be a program, browser or app you are demonstrating.
A tab - will simply present a particular tab of a browser. This is the best option for presentations with audio (ex: sharing a video or audio clip).
**Best Practices - Use A tab method of presenting when possible to reduce the amount of your information participants are able to see.
When presenting, you will see the tab/screen that you are presenting within the Google Meet, this is also what your students/participants will see.
Step 3: To stop presenting, click on the Present button in the toolbar and select "Stop presenting" or at the top of the browser in which you are presenting.
