Creating Assignments in Google Classroom

Step 1: Go to the Classwork page in your Google Classroom.
Step 2: From there, click on the Create button and select Assignment to create an assignment.
Step 3: Give your assignment a title. You can add instructions if you wish.
Step 4: On the right side of the page, you will see several options to further customize your assignment. They are explained in more detail below.
Step 5: You can add materials for students to reference for their assignment but you can also add documents for students to complete.
Step 6: When a file is added, you will have options for how students will receive the material.
Students can view file - This is used if the attachment is reference material that students do not interact with.
Students can edit file - This would be used if the file is to be worked on as a class. All students will have the ability to change the document
Make a copy for each student - This will be used if the assignment is meant to be done individually. Changes students make will be made to the original document.
Step 7: When the assignment is ready to be sent to students, click Assign in the top right corner.
