Labrador Inuit Society and Culture 2211 offers perspectives on the history of Labrador Inuit from their migration to the region in the years between 1200 and 1400 through to the historic signing of the Labrador Inuit land Claims Agreement in 2005 and the subsequent formation of Nunatsiavut.
Students will study the evolution of artistic expression within the Labrador Inuit community, they will consider artists, media, techniques, and expression both as representations of a vibrant culture as well as a means to represent and share their learnings throughout the course.
