Social Studies Educators Network of Canada (SSENC)

This is a national organization that connects Social Studies educators across Canada. It aims to support and promote social studies education by sharing resources, research, and best practices among teachers, researchers, and curriculum developers. SSENC fosters collaboration across provinces, enhances professional development, and advocates for the importance of social studies in fostering informed, engaged citizens. SSENC often hosts conferences, webinars, and publishes materials that address current educational trends and challenges in social studies education.

Speak Truth to Power: Youth Defenders for Human Rights

The "Speak Truth to Power: Youth Defenders for Human Rights" series, developed by the Canadian Teachers' Federation, offers Canadian educators resources to introduce human rights topics in classrooms. Each booklet includes lesson plans, activities, videos, profiles of community defenders, and additional materials.

These resources are available for free download in PDF format, supporting educators in fostering awareness and action on human rights issues among students.
