Our Mission:
The Newfoundland and Labrador Social Studies Special Interest Council (NLSSSIC) strives to foster an engaged and dynamic community of Social Studies educators. As a branch of the NLTA Professional Development Division, our mission is to support continuous professional growth, share innovative ideas and best practices, and advocate for effective teaching and assessment in Social Studies. We aim to provide a collaborative forum for addressing professional issues, while building strong connections with educators, affiliated agencies, academic institutions, and governmental bodies to advance Social Studies education in Newfoundland and Labrador.
