Project SucSeed

Project SucSeed is an award winning hydroponic system developed by Memorial University students to address the overwhelming need for fresh affordable produce in our province. SucSeed systems have been distributed to classrooms to all schools in the the Labrador region.

Wellness Cafe...

The Wellness Café will promote healthy eating and active living, address stress management and coping skills, provide sexual health education, and offer sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment.

The hope is to reduce barriers by providing health services in a convenient and accessible location. The school setting will enabling students to take ownership of their health and encourage the  development of  healthy behaviours.


Garden Project

Students from Queen of Peace Middle School with the assistance of LGHealth, NLESD,  Community Food Hub and Fisherise and Land Resourses start the plants from seed, water and maintain until planted and eventually harvest and enjoy a meal at their school.

Anything remaining gets passed to the community food hub for distributon.

P.A.T.H. Project

The colorful and educational decals offer a way to utilize school space and provide much needed activity breaks while moving from class to class. These activity breaks are  good instructional opportunities to achieve curricular outcomes and increase student movement and fitness.
