About Us

Horizon Academy is an alternative, transitional program for junior high to high school aged students who are unable to learn in the zoned school environment.

* An application must be filled in by the neighborhood school’s learning team and presented to the Horizon Academy Advisory Committee to seek approval and placement. They meet once a month unless an emergency meeting is required.

* Horizon Academy is also open for students who are transferring from a treatment facility or alternate program before they move on to their neighborhood school or to another learning program.

* Horizon Academy offers a morning or an afternoon session. Some students may arrive only for a portion of one of these sessions however, maximum session time is 2.5 hours.
