Medications
Our school rarely administers prescription drugs to pupils on school premises. Students who are required to take prescription medicine should adjust their scheduled dosage to be able to take a medicine before or after school hours. Should a situation arise where a student must take medication in school, the parent is to contact the office and fill out the appropriate medical form before the medication is brought to school. The medication is sent to the office, clearly marked with the name of the child and the time and dosage required (in original container from pharmacy). All prescription medication will be stored in the office. It may not be kept in the students possession at any time (exception epi-pens, inhalers). The principal, or designate, will ensure that the medication is administered from the office to the student. The medical form must be filled out before the medication can be administered.
