Teaching, Learning, and Growing Together
With over a thousand students from Grades K-9, right next door, there is no question that this garden will become a center for discovery-based teaching and learning that will incorporate all curricular areas.
At the same time, students will learn to be more responsible and engaged citizens, who learn the value of self-reliance, relationship building, and how to bring about positive, sustainable change for themselves and for their community.
For us, as future-facing educators, our practice is founded on the 6 Cs.
Each of these represent the competencies that we are working to teach and nurture in our students.
One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through project-based learning. Below, is a summary of some of the curricular connections that will be made in our Garden Classroom.
