I grew up in a small town called Jackson's Arm in Newfoundland and Labrador. I attended Main River Academy (MRA) for my K-12 schooling experience. I am currently teaching grade 7-12 math and science at Grandy's River Collegiate in Burnt Islands, NL. Grandy's River Collegiate is a small K-12 school with about 70 students. In the last 3 school years, I have taught at four different schools from grades 4 - 12. Most of my current classes are multi-grade classes, one in which rotate curriculum, and the rest require the teaching of multiple math curriculums in the same classroom, at the same time.
Hello, for the last 22 years I have been a high school teacher in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I currently teach at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, as well as online for the province with InformNet, and some international consulting for the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) program in Computer Science. I have been teaching since the late 90’s in the St. James School Division (where I also attended public school myself). Before that, I worked in software development in the late 1990s and early 2000s. My relevant education includes:
Bachelor of Science: Computer Science (major) and Mathematics (minor) - University of Manitoba (1996)
Bachelor of Arts: History (major) and Sociology (minor) - University of Manitoba (1992)
Bachelor of Education - University of Manitoba (1999)
Also I obtained college certification in Web page design (University of Winnipeg), I.B. training, as well as work with special needs. I have always taught a variety of different courses and levels over the years. For more information here are some other links:
Bachelor of Arts (Double Major - History and English), UNB Fredericton, 2006
Bachelor of Education (Social Studies and ELA teachables), UNB Fredericton, 2006

Good day! I grew up in a small logging village in New Brunswick called Plaster Rock, home of the World Pond Hockey Championships. After receiving my concurrent degrees and supply teaching for a year, I took a job teaching ESL and Environmental Science at the Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada in China, a partnership school between a private college and the New Brunswick government, where I worked for 6 years. In 2013, I moved home to New Brunswick and have been teaching in Anglophone West School District every since. My current school is John Caldwell School, a K-12 school with less than 450 students, which is nice because there are adult contacts that the student have all through their public school years. I primarily teach high school English and History, but depending on the year have been assigned a variety of courses including Health and Physical Education, Theatre Arts, Law, and Visual Arts, just to name a few.
At the time of writing, I am on a leave from school to be the primary caregiver for my 7- month-old son, Eli. I will be returning to JCS for the second semester of the 2021 - 2022 school year.
