Arbor Vitae has many sources as surface water, they have some sources of exceptional water meaning it is very clean. 

Arbor Vitae also has a number of "Impaired Waters" which are lakes and water sources that do not meet the criteria for the Wisconsin's code. 

Invasive species pose a threat to the natural waters around Arbor Vitae

Land Advantages

• Wetlands: they help soak up water that is not being used. They act as a natural sponge and help by helping soak up unneeded water to keep it from spreading. 

• Floodplains: They are an area that have a 1% chance of flooding and help to prevent it. They are areas with natural drainage systems to release excess water. 

• Forests: play a large role in protecting the land around them. They provide ways for people to make money, and also make Arbor Vitae more full of things to do and make it better to be in.
