Dignity means treating every person as an individual — with their own preferences, history, and right to make decisions about their life. It’s reflected in how you speak to someone, how you respect their space, and the small everyday actions that let someone know they are valued. It transforms routine tasks into support that is personal and proactive, helping people feel safe, seen, and in control of their own lives.
Minding dignity in everyday practice helps the people we support move from recipients of care to active participants in it.
Dignity Campaign: Three Little Deeds Initiative
February marks Dignity Action Month, and our 2026 dignity campaign is built around a simple idea: Three Little Deeds.
We are asking every employee to perform three dignity deeds this month — for a client or a colleague — that make someone feel respected, appreciated, or seen. It can be a supportive message to a colleague after a difficult shift, taking extra time to support a client's independence, or completing a task exactly the way someone likes it.
