Community Service

Community Service and giving back to the Chicagoland community sits at the backbone of BLSA's mission. We acknowledge that none of us would be here if it were not for the help and guidance of others and aim to give back to our geographic and cultural communities. In the past, BLSA has volunteered at community centers, shelters, worked with middle and high school students, had visitors at the law school for a day and worked on probono matters. This year, BLSA will focus our efforts on academic preparedness, college readiness and the school-to-prison pipeline. Stay tuned for community service announcements and opportunities. If you are interested in hosting BLSA at your organization or working to plan a community service event, please reach out to the Director of Communications and Community Outreach, Spencer Castilla, spencer.castilla@law.northwestern.edu
