Roseola is a rash illness of children. Most cases occur in children 6 months to 2 years of age.
Symptoms
High fever which may cause seizure activity. The fever usually lasts three to five days. Then, a rash may appear as small, slightly bumpy, rose-pink, raised spots on the skin. The rash usually lasts hours to days. Infection also occurs without symptoms in many children.

By contact with respiratory droplets formed when a child talks, coughs, or sneezes. These droplets can land on or be rubbed into the eyes, nose, or mouth. Adults without symptoms may spread the virus from their saliva.

Exclusion
School and Child Care: Provided that other rash illnesses, especially measles, have been ruled out, the child may return when he/she is without fever for 24 hours. The child must be able to participate and staff members can care for the child without compromising their ability to care for the health and safety of the other children.
