· Professor Emerita of International Relations and Peace Studies, Kobe University
· Taught for 33 years at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies, Kobe University
· Served as Director of the Gender Equality Office, Kobe University
· Founder of the Popoki Peace Project (since 2005), a platform for creative peace action, education, and disaster support
· Published extensively, including scholarly works and picture books
· Research focus on the island Pacific, with emphasis on nuclear issues, gender, and narratives of safety
