Meet the School Counseling Team

Mr. Sean Hodge

Class of 2032 (6th Grade Students)

Mr. Hodge is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University, where he earned his B.S. in Psychology. He is also a graduate of Liberty University where he earned his Master's Degree in School Counseling. This is his fifth year at New Kent Middle School. Mrs. Elizabeth Malone

Lead School Counselor; Class of 2031 (7th Grade Students)

Mrs. Malone is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she earned her M.S.Ed. in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling. She also graduated from Clemson University where she earned a B.A. in Secondary Education and Social Studies. She is a former high school Social Studies teacher, having taught Psychology, Sociology, Government, and Economics. Mrs. Malone has additional certifications as an Anxiety and Stress Management Specialist and as a Trauma and Crisis Specialist from the American School Counselor Association. This is her fifth year as a New Kent Middle School Lion and she loves being a part of Team New Kent. You can reach her at emalone@nkcps.k12.va.us.

Ms. Tori Outhous

Class of 2030 (8th Grade Students)

Ms. O is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned her M. Ed in Counselor Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. She also earned her B.S. in Human Development from Virginia Tech. This is her third year at New Kent Middle School and is so excited to move up with her students to 8th grade!
