A language course is not required for high school graduation. NJUHSD requires one year (10 credits) of a language, visual or performing arts. or a career technical education course.

For the 2024-2025 school year, NPA will not be offering language on campus. Options to participate in learning language include a dual schedule at NU or BR for Spanish or academic enrichment via Sierra College.
Most often, the Sierra College option makes the most sense for those enrolled at an independent study school such as North Point Academy.

NPA continues to recommend the Sierra College academic enrichment route for completion of the university entrance requirement of Language other Than English.
1st semester Sierra = 2 years high school equivalent LOTE
2nd semester Sierra = 3rd year HS equivalent LOTE
