NJUHSD Parents and Caregivers: We hope this entire handbook serves as a reference for you. This page, however, is specifically for you! There is an overwhelming amount of information for parents & caregivers when it comes to supporting students to and through both high school and post secondary schooling. College and Career Readiness (CCR) within NJUHSD and the state of California has made a paradigm shift. This is why we are aiming to have our student GET FOCUED and STAY FOCUSED!
Sierra College Interest Areas
Sierra college has been leading the way using GUIDED PATHWAYS. Students are guided to consider Career before beginning course work for clear goal setting. Sierra's guided pathways work includes:
academic maps and interest areas
structured onboarding processes
proactive academic and career counseling
enhancement of the early alert system
instructional support and co-curricular activities (professional development)
