This full-year course provides students with a broad perspective of multicultural art forms from around the globe. This course provides an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural study of creative expression, examining how arts are shaped by and respond to diverse cultural contexts. Students will gain experience in both processes and technique while making hands-on arts and crafts projects in both 2D and 3D. In addition to building technical skills, students will explore art as a form of artistic expression and cultural tradition, deepening their understanding of the role of art and contemporary contexts. This course fulfills the Visual Arts requirement for CSU/UC.
The advanced course is Global Arts and Crafts 2. Students will explore more advanced techniques and enhance skills learned in Global Arts and Crafts 1. More technical printmaking concepts will be introduced in this course.
