Emerging Perspectives

Local Art Exhibit

Nevada City Oddfellows warmly invites the community to Emerging Perspectives, a student art exhibition featuring the work of more than 75 talented young artists from Nevada Union High School. The exhibition will be on view from March 2–28, with a public Opening Reception on March 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Presented in partnership with the Seven Stars Youth Arts Program and Nevada Union’s Art Department, the show highlights a wide range of artwork by students in grades 9 through 12. Visitors will experience an engaging collection of photography, ceramics, and mixed media works that reflect the creativity and fresh perspectives of the next generation of artists.

Students are enthusiastic about sharing their work with the public, with many pieces available for purchase. Opportunities like this exhibition play a vital role in arts education, giving young artists real-world experience preparing their work.  Each student has also written an artist statement, offering thoughtful insight into the ideas and creative process behind their pieces. The exhibition offers students hands-on experience and a thorough understanding of the full process of creating, showcasing, and selling their art.
