Students create a portfolio of work (9-12 pieces) to demonstrate inquiry into the four investigative units of Place, Objects, People, and Monument with developed art and design skills in the use of materials, processes, and ideas over the course of the year. Portfolios include works of art and design, process documentation, artist statements, and critique. Students will complete portfolios for evaluation based on specific rubric criteria, which include skillful synthesis of materials, and ideas formed through the sustained investigative process including practice, experimentation/revision and student generated guiding questions. The year will culminate in a student-organized group art show.
