Experience from ONLAB:

During my journey as a Research Scholar in ONLAB, I have performed various experiments to comprehensively understand Neuroplasticity, Neurotransmission, Connectivity functions, Imaging Techniques of the brain to understand the interaction of Emotion and Cognition. Furthermore, the lab provided me an opportunity to develop a computational modelling technique to solve this robust problem. My Special thanks to my supervisor Dr. Arindam Bit, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering and my co-supervisor Dr. Shashikanta Tarai, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences who has supported and made this journey memorable in this journey of acquiring of knowledge.

Experience from ONLAB:

My journey related to ONLAB was fantastic. The ONLAB provides me with a platform for performing the experiments specially related to the mechanotransduction phenomena, under the supervision of Dr. Aindam Bit sir. The different instruments available inside the lab help to validate the experiment as well as the computational results. Also, the ONLAB plays a significant role in publishing different articles in different scientific journals, which improves my profile in the scientific community. Overall, the guidance provided by the mentor  and lab facilities provides an idea or approach, how to solve any problem in a scientific way.  I hope, in the future, it will be my pleasure to get a chance to work with the lab in a collaborative way. 

Memories to share with ONLAB:

Reflecting on my experience at ONLAB makes me feel warm and grateful. Every experience, from the thrill of conquering research obstacles to the shared laughter at lab sessions, embodies the essence of teamwork and perseverance. Scientific discussion on Pizza and dinner parties with colleague and guide after the experiment session provide a new pathway to resolve the current problems. Whether it's the joy of a successful experiment or the camaraderie formed over coffee breaks, my experiences at ONLAB have not only impacted my academic career but also left an everlasting mark on my personal development as a researcher. These memories are treasured mementos of the rewarding trip we've walked together in quest of knowledge and scientific advancement.

Experience from ONLAB: 

During my final year as an undergraduate student in the research lab, I gained crucial skills and insights. Working hands-on for making a random positioning machine and doing simulation for fluid dynamics sharpened my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in the field of biomechanics. This was possible due to the expert guidance of Arindam Sir, he also encouraged me to be a part of a co-author research article from my undergrad research project which was published in 2020. It boosted my confidence.Above all, this experience ignited my passion for research, setting a strong foundation for my future endeavors in advancing scientific knowledge.The key takeaway from the lab experience was learning to achieve tangible results, collaborate effectively, and drive meaningful advancements in research.

Memories to share with ONLAB: 

The first thing that comes to mind is my mentor, Dr. Arindam Sir. He has a heart of gold and serves as a constant inspiration to me. I greatly admire his ability to identify a person's weaknesses and then guide them to build confidence and resilience. His expertise in biomechanics is unmatched, and our scientific discussions have fueled my passion for this field, motivating me to pursue it further in my career.

Current Position:  Prime Minister Research Fellow (Ph.D) Centre For Nanotechnology, IIT Roorkee

Experience from ONLAB: 

Participating in ONLAB was an exhilarating experience for me. As a Junior Research Fellow with a background in biotechnology, it was a departure from my usual path. However, I gained valuable software skills that are proving invaluable in my Ph.D. journey. Dr. Arindam Bit, my mentor, was instrumental in making learning enjoyable and effortless. His teaching style facilitated easy comprehension of concepts, experiments, and honing problem-solving abilities. Under his guidance, I made the decision to pursue my Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee. I am immensely thankful to have crossed paths with Dr. Arindam Bit.

Experience from ONLAB:

My journey at ONLAB, under the guidance of  Dr. Arindam Bit, began with an internship that significantly expanded my understanding of various instruments, providing a practical experience beyond my classroom learning at NIT Raipur. Interacting with Ph.D. scholars at ONLAB exposed me to a wide range of ideas and research interests, broadening my intellectual horizons and sparking new potential areas of exploration. ONLAB equipped me with valuable skills. The internship environment at ONLAB fostered an atmosphere where I could explore my research interests. Dr. Bit's guidance and mentorship were instrumental in my academic and personal growth. His support and direction helped me excel in my studies at NIT Raipur and understand my research interests with greater focus. These combined factors significantly contributed to securing a conditional offer from Trinity College Dublin.

Memories to share with ONLAB:     My time at ONLAB was enriching. The exciting experiments I conducted during my internship at ONLAB. Whether it was learning to operate new instruments or analyzing experimental results, those hands-on experiences left a lasting impression. I felt a sense of understanding, accomplishment, and personal growth as I navigated through my internship, gaining confidence in my skills and research interests. The mentorship provided by Dr. Bit was impactful. Apart from the academic growth, my interpersonal skills improved during that time. It will be my pleasure to collaborate with ONLAB in the future. 

Current Position: Sr. Software Engineer at Magna Inc. Bangalore

Year of Passing: B.Tech (2020), M.Tech-Embedded Systems( NIELIT Calicut)

From the moment I began, I was captivated by the dynamic environment and the hands-on nature of the experiments. Whether I was learning to operate cutting-edge instruments or delving into the complexities of data analysis, each experience was both challenging and rewarding. Working under the guidance of Arindam Sir was particularly impactful. The supportive environment encouraged me to ask questions, take initiative, and grow both personally and professionally. Beyond the technical aspects, my time at ONLAB greatly improved my interpersonal skills, allowing me to collaborate effectively with a diverse team. I carry these experiences with immense gratitude and look forward to future collaborations with ONLAB.

Current Position: PhD scholar at IIT Guwahati 

Year of Passing: 2022

Experience from ONLAB:

I have learnt essential skills which are a must in research. I had a chance to enrich my knowledge in the field of image processing, computer aided design, and microfluidics simulation.

Memories to share with ONLAB:     My time at ONLAB was enriching. in spite of being in the COVID situation I had a great time in ONLAB, meeting such great seniors and fellow researchers who always inspire me till date. Most importantly research was never a burden rather was fun under Arindam sir.
