Established on 10th September 2007, the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneshwar, is a unique institution in India, committed to generation, dissemination and preservation of knowledge in basic sciences. NISER actively strives towards this goal of fostering a scientific temperament through - rigorous undergraduate and academic programmes, cutting-edge research initiatives and infrastructure, and widespread involvement in scientific outreach and policy-making. The autonomous institute is part of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) structure and affiliated with the esteemed Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai.


Initially housed at the Institute of Physics, the present campus is situated over a sprawling 300 acres in Jatni town, 25 Kms from the city centre. Tucked away from the bustling city yet well-connected, the campus is home to over 1500 students and researchers from all across the country. With state-of-the-art facilities, a vibrant academic community, and a commitment to fostering excellence in science and technology, NISER Bhubaneswar is a leading institution in shaping the future of science and technology in the country.
