1. Developing new methods for oxidative cleavage of the carbon-carbon bond of strained organic molecules such as cyclopropenone, cyclopropanol and its application to the synthesis of  bioactive heterocyclic core skeletons and useful organic scaffolds

2.  Developing new methods for the functionalization of arenes and heteroarenes
