Ph.D. Position:

We are always on the lookout for dynamic and highly self-motivated students who would like to pursue a Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis. NISER admits Ph.D. students both in summer and winter sessions. Students who have their own fellowships like CSIR/UGC JRF are encouraged to apply. Positions through GATE mode are very limited. For more information, prospective students can contact Dr. P. C. Postdoc Position:

There is a possible postdoc opening in our group from January 2024 

However, candidates who are interested in applying for NPDF (sponsored by SERB) and other such programs are encouraged to contact Dr. P. C. Ravikumar well in advance.

4th & 5th Year MSc Project Work (for Integrated MSc students)

Integrated MSc students (NISER) who are interested to join our group for doing their MSc project are encouraged to do a summer/winter internship in our group during their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd years. This will give them good exposure to our research work, lab environment, and culture. Masters students are encouraged to go abroad for higher studies.

Our lab provides a dynamic learning environment for learning cutting-edge organic chemistry research as well as the professional skills needed to excel in an academic career.

Summer Internship and Short Term Research Work (1 - 2 months):

MSc students who are desirous of learning the basics of experimental research in organic synthesis can join our group for a short term. Both NISER MSc students and MSc students from other institutes, universities, and colleges can join our group, please contact Dr. P. C. Ravikumar (pcr@niser.ac.in) at least 3 months ahead. Usually, it is a first cum first serve basis.

Students who are from smaller places and have less exposure to research are particularly encouraged to apply to summer/winter internship

Project Position/Junior Research Fellow (under sponsored project):

Currently, there is no project position available in our group

Qualifications: First class in MSc Chemistry and qualified in UGC-CSIR NET (Lecturership) or GATE
