PB was born and raised in Sambalpur, Odisha. He completed his B.Sc. (Chemistry honours) in 2011 and M.Sc. in 2013 from Bhima Bhoi College, Rairakhol and Sambalpur University respectively. Then he joined as a guest lecturer at Bhima Bhoi College from August-2013 to August-2014. After that, he completed his M.Phil degree in December-2015 from Sambalpur University. He joined National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar as a junior research scholar under the supervision of Dr. Ponneri C. Ravikumar. In his lab, he worked on the Syntheses and Functionalization of N-heterocycles via transition metal-catalyzed C-H bond activation.  Pragati is currently a guest faculty in one of the most renowned colleges of Odisha, BJB (Auto) college.
