We are always looking for enthusiastic, talented, and highly motivated individuals to join the Nano-Electronics and Device Physics Lab to work on challenging and interdisciplinary research problems. Our group is committed to and fostering a collaborative and supportive research environment.
If you are passionate about electronics and semiconductors, we encourage you to explore the opportunities below.
We welcome applications from prospective Ph.D. students interested in Perovskite Semiconductors and Organic Field Effect Transistors.
Application Process:
Primary Route: All Ph.D. admissions are conducted through the NISER regular admission cycle. You must qualify through the institutional selection process (written test and interview) following the Institute's guidelines.
Prerequisites: Candidates should hold an M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Physics or Chemistry and have a valid fellowship for direct application to the institute.
Before formally applying to the Institute, feel free to send an email to the Principal Investigator (PI) Satyaprasad P Senanayak (satyaprasad@niser.ac.in) expressing your interest, along with your detailed CV, academic transcripts, and a brief statement of research interest.
We are seeking independent, driven, and qualified postdoctoral researchers to contribute to our ongoing and new projects.
Ideal Candidates Should Have:
A Ph.D. degree in Semiconductor Physics or related fields.
A strong publication record demonstrating expertise in Organic Thin Film Transistors.
The ability to work independently, mentor junior students, and write research proposals.
Application Process:
Interested candidates can apply directly for externally funded fellowships or other national/international schemes, and list our lab as the host institution.
Direct Application: Send an email to the PI with the following attachments:
A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a list of publications.
A concise Research Proposal (1-2 pages) outlining a project you would like to pursue in the lab, demonstrating synergy with our current research.
Contact information for at least three professional references.
We occasionally host highly motivated students for short-term research experiences as part of their summer training, or project-based internships.
Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc. or Integrated Ph.D. programs are eligible.
Duration: Internships typically range from 2 to 6 months. Please note that we generally cannot accommodate internships shorter than two months due to the complexity of setting up experiments/simulations.
Action: If you are seeking an internship project, please email the PI (satyaprasad@niser.ac.in) with your CV, academic transcripts, and a brief statement of why you want to join our lab and your intended dates of stay. Please apply well in advance of your desired start date.
Please send all inquiries and applications to:
Satyaprasad P Senanayak , Email: [satyaprasad@niser.ac.in]
General Application Guidelines:
Use a clear subject line for the inquiry email (e.g., "PhD Application: [Your Name]," or "Postdoc Position Inquiry: [Your Name]").
Attach your CV and transcripts as a single PDF file if possible.
Clearly state which position you are applying for and why you are a good fit for the research conducted in our lab.
We look forward to hearing from you! Please check our main Home page for details on our current projects and publications.
