My name is Tiffany Wood, and I am a secondary educator in Northwest ISD. My position in the classroom has afforded me many opportunities to experience and experiment with new and developing technology. I have seen first-hand how technology has shaped the evolution of classroom instruction and am ready to assist new teachers with mastering this future-ready skill.
I believe that when teachers are equipped with the technology skills to help their classrooms run efficiently, they can spend more time bringing creative learning experiences to their students. Students thrive on variety and novelty, but consistency is also essential. Students enjoy when they're teachers can bring the fun! I enjoy helping colleagues integrate technology into the classroom so that students' experiences are aligned with the real world and still entertaining.
Born and raised in North Texas, I studied Education at the University of North Texas where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been a teacher for 17 years in Northwest ISD and Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.
In addition to teaching math, I have taught several courses that have required a great deal of technology integration, from remote Geometry and summer school to Advanced Media Applications and Yearbook. Each of these opportunities allowed me to learn and grow in my technology skills. Coaching cheerleading and teaching Media/Yearbook also required me to utilize my intepersonal skills to coordinate with teachers, plan field trips, and manage people more than a typical teaching role.
In 2023, I decided to advance my education at Lamar University to begin my M.Ed. in Technology Leadership. Through my studies, I have developed an understanding of the larger role the education system plays in global society, as well as the importance of educational administrators in maintaining order and direction at school campuses.
Throughout my career in NISD, I have had the opportunity to build leadership skills in a variety of positions.
