Each year Medlin students and staff come together to create a community-wide event to encourage everyone to learn and share Social-Emotional Learning strategies and information.
As part of the yearly Medlin Cares event, students have an opportunity to showcase their understanding and empathy for the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.
AVID is an amazing program in NISD for students 7th grade and up. Students learn how to plan for their futures & see success in their AVID classes. If you are not in AVID and are interested in joining please let me know and we will be sure to include you in the interview process.
At Northwest ISD EXPO, students are selected to present an exceptional piece of work. This past year, Medlin 8th graders presented their Celebration of Color: A Heritage Project assignments to audiences.
Reading literature out loud provides opportunities for students to analyze text, to grow and to develop as a performer, to communicate a message to an audience, and to perform an artistic creation. The oral reading competition should be an extension of the classroom literacy and language arts activities in poetry or prose depending on grade level and year.
