Many of you may know me as Ms. Horan! I'm still the same me, just with a new name! Changing names has been a bit of an adjustment. I will take no offense if you (or your kiddos) call me Ms. Horan. I am still getting used to the change as well!
For those of you who don't know me, I grew up in upstate New York and went to Maine Endwell Central School. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher and work with children. I attended SUNY Geneseo, majoring in Childhood/ Special Education. I continued on and got my Master’s in Reading and Literacy. After graduation, I moved to Charlotte North Carolina where I taught kindergarten for two years. Charlotte is an amazing city, but I had no family there, so I decided to relocate once again to Fort Worth, where my older sister, Kristin, lives. Soon after moving to Texas, I met Nick. I didn't know it then, but soon after, I realized he would eventually become my husband. Fast forward to March of 2022 and we became Mr. and Mrs. Nick and I have an adorable golden doodle, Oaklee, who is the center of our worlds! She loves playing at the dog park and meeting new friends! We'd love to have a playdate with you!
Each school year I like to think of my class (and families) as an extended family. I want to share each joy and burden with you. I want to pray for your family in any way that I can. I want to be real and honest with you. Education is a partnership and I cannot do my job without your help. Together, we can make this year amazing!
I love seeing my students outside of school! If your child is involved in any extracurricular activity, feel free to send me the schedule or invite me to the event! This includes birthday parties, sports games, competitions, church choir, playdates, etc.! I want you and your child to know that I am not only their teacher, but a supporter in all that they do!
