The Choirs of Medlin 

Below you can learn about the Choirs of Medlin! Each description comes from our Choir Handbook and outlines the performance opportunities and expectations of each ensemble. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the directors.

6th Grade Treble & Tenor Mustang Choirs 

These ensembles are Medlin's training choirs, led by Mrs. Fry (Tenors) & Ms. Sepulvador (Treble). In these choirs, students will learn basic music literacy, vocal techniques and skills, as well as literature mastery.  This group will perform for the Fall Concert, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Pop Concert, and compete in the NISD 6th Grade Sing! Festival in April. 

Bel Canto & Concert Tenor/Bass Choir (7th/8th Grade-Open)

These ensembles are Medlin's advanced choirs, led by Ms. Sepulvador with assistance from Mrs. Fry and are open to all 7th & 8th grade singers. These groups focus most on vocal development and sight-reading. They perform Grade 1-2 off the Texas Prescribed Music List and 2-part sight-reading. These students will perform at the Fall Concert, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Pop Concert, and some off-campus events. These events include Region 2 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation and choral competitions in the DFW-area. These students are strongly encouraged to audition for the All-Region Choir.

Bella Voce & Tenor/Bass Chorale (7th/8th Grade-Auditioned)

These ensembles are the premiere choirs at Medlin Middle School, led by Mrs. Fry with assistance from Ms. Sepulvador. Students audition at the end of each year for placement in these groups. This group performs the most challenging music in the program from grades 2-3 off the Texas Prescribed Music List and focus on 3-part sight-reading. Members of these ensembles are required to audition for the All-Region Choir and highly encouraged to participate in Solo & Ensemble contest. Members of these ensembles perform at on-campus events such as pep rallies and the Veteran's Day assembly, the Fall Concert, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Pop Concert, and other outside events. These events include community events, Region 2 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, and choral competitions in the DFW-area.
