WHAT IS ORCHESTRA CAMP?
Orchestra camp is a great way to keep kids motivated and improving during the summer time. There are a variety of camps and experiences, all with varying costs. Some are overnight camps, others are day camps; some local and some are further away.
There are LOTS of camps around the state (and out of state as well!). Here are a few that we know are great! Lots of camps are still updating their information, and we will update this flyer as we get more information about different opportunities!
Camps are listed in order by date so that you can easily see where they will fit into your summer schedule.
**You can also connect with local teachers for private lessons over the summer. Scroll to the bottom for contact information!
JUNE 9-13
Usually, this is an overnight camp at Lake Murray in Oklahoma. A really fun blend of actual camping in cabins and outdoorsy stuff AND playing your instrument! For more details, click here.
JUNE 23-26
This is local, in Grapevine. They have other camps that are more for elementary aged kids, so MS kids should look at the Intensive Summer Music Camp that is more geared for older kids that play an instrument.
You can also contact the Rojas School of Music in Southlake. They have highly qualified teachers for every instrument!
JUNE 15-21
Overnight camp at Baylor University in Waco
TBD
Day Camp on UNT Campus
JULY 6-11
This camp can be day camp or overnight camp at UT Arlington!
JUNE 22-28
Overnight camp at SFA in Nacogdoches, TX
Taking private lessons over the summer can also be a good way to keep your skills level up and/or catapult yourself over some of your peers! This list will be updated once we know which teachers are available!
